Meanwhile, at the Commonwealth Youth Games held in Trinidad and Tobago, Team SA's contingent of 49 athletes and para-athletes displayed their dedication and determination across various disciplines, including netball, swimming, athletics and cycling. Their efforts culminated in a triumphant haul of 20 medals, comprising an incredible seven golds, six silvers, and seven bronzes.
The medal spree commenced with a spectacular performance from 16-year-old junior cyclist Miles Libenberg, who clinched a gold medal on the very day of the opening ceremony, triumphing by a mere three seconds. This victory marked a significant milestone in his burgeoning career, underscoring his potential as a rising star.

The team included Deidre Jordaan (Badminton Coach), Albertus Aucamp (Archery), Jarred Elliot (Badminton), and Johan Coetzee (Tennis). Christopher Swart, Valco Hendrik van Wyk, Karmen Fouche, Tamzin Thomas, Marga Cumming, Phindile Kubheka and Rogail Joseph were part of the Athletics team.
