Kagisano Molopo Municipality empowers the community with Goat Massification Project.

In a significant gesture aimed at fostering sustainable Local Economic Development, Mayor Cllr Tshireletso Marabutse of Kagisano Molopo Local Municipality, along with Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Service and Local Economic Development Cllr Karolo Mothwane, recently presented goats to beneficiaries of the Tshwaraganang Goat Project in Tshwaneng Village.

Mayor Tshiretso Marabutse says the distribution of goats marked the commencement of the goat’s massification project.

“This project is a pivotal step towards enhancing the local agricultural sector. Recognizing the importance of learning from the past while striving for improvement in the present, this initiative embodies the municipality's commitment to creating a prosperous future for its residents.”

“The Tshwaraganang Goat Project holds great potential for empowering local communities and building a sustainable economy. By providing beneficiaries with goats, the project aims to support their livelihoods and enhance their income generation opportunities. These goats can serve as valuable assets, enabling beneficiaries to participate actively in the agricultural sector and contribute to the local economy,” said Mayor Marabutse.

Furthermore, in celebration of Youth Day, Kagisano Molopo Municipality extended support to a young female farmer named Neo Leburu, who specializes in poultry farming. The municipality provided her with an incubator, 50 bags of cement, and a wire mesh, encouraging young individuals to explore agriculture due to its comparative advantage.
