AVBOB HANDS OVER CONTAINER LIBRARY TO PHOSASANE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Handing of container library to the Principal of Phaposane Primary Mr Tebatso Leradile
The Principal of Phaposane Primary, a school in Kagisano Molopo Municipality, Mr Tebatso Leradile, is overjoyed and deeply grateful for the recently generous donation made by AVBOB, a well-known funeral services provider. AVBOB has donated a container converted into a library, stocked with books and equipped with basic furniture and educational resources.
Mr Leradile envisions the positive impact the library will have on his students. He says access to books and resources is crucial for their educational development and future success.
"The container library will provide a safe and conducive space for students to read, learn and expand their knowledge. The library will benefit current students and future generations of students at Phaposane Primary School. I, therefore, wish to extend my gratitude to AVBOB for its commitment to community development and education. Their meaningful contribution to enhancing the learning environment at the school and empowering the students to reach their full potential is highly appreciated,” said Mr Leradile.
The container library donation is part of AVBOB's Corporate Social Investment Projects.
“We are proud to have handed over our 62nd container library at Phaposane Primary School in Ganyesa, North West. Our goal, with this initiative, is to instil a love of reading and numeracy at the primary school level, which is also one of the important challenges our government seeks to overcome in schools," said Carl van der Riet, CEO at AVBOB Mutual Society.
The container library project - the AVBOB Foundation's flagship project - was launched in 2013. To date, 62 fully equipped libraries have been donated to schools in disadvantaged communities throughout South Africa. AVBOB constructs the libraries from refurbished shipping containers through their AVBOB Industries Division and manages the process of painting and fitting them with laminated wooden floors, shelving, a chalkboard, tables, and chairs. The libraries are also equipped with solar PV systems, which give the libraries the capability to power up LED lights, any computer or projector being used in the libraries, or even to recharge cell phone or laptop batteries.
“The launch of container libraries has become an essential milestone for AVBOB and will remain so for years to come, “concluded van der Riet.
