The construction progress of the mall has impressed Naledi Local Municipality Mayor Cliffton Groep, who, alongside the Municipal Manager, Modisaotsile Segapo, recently conducted an oversight visit to assess the project's development.
The mall's construction is progressing rapidly, with contractors working diligently to meet the targeted completion time. Currently, the project is estimated to be approximately 65% complete.
“The Municipality is fully committed to providing reliable bulk electricity, water, and refuse removal services to support the mall's operations. Furthermore, the municipality plans to extend the anti-crime patrolling program to the surrounding areas, ensuring visitors' safe and pleasant shopping experience,” said Groep.
With its diverse mix of 60 stores, Mompati Mall will cater to a wide range of consumers in the region.
The mall will feature major grocery stores such as Shoprite and SuperSpar. Other confirmed tenants include well-known brands like Spar, Clicks, Capitec, Nedbank, FNB, Torga Optical, Foschini, Jet, Totalsports, KFC, and McDonald's.
This varied tenant mix will provide ample shopping options for residents and attract customers from neighbouring areas, boosting retail sales and generating revenue for local businesses.
Mompati Mall is strategically located on the N18, adjacent to the CBD and across from the Vryburg sports grounds, ensuring easy accessibility for shoppers.
In addition to its commercial significance, Mompati Mall is also environmentally conscious. The mall will feature a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant, generating clean and sustainable energy to ensure uninterrupted trading even during load shedding.
To enhance the shopping experience, the mall will provide free Wi-Fi for shoppers, adding convenience and connectivity.
