One of the most significant areas of societal influence is education upliftment, which is more crucial than ever in light of the disastrous COVID-19 pandemic's impacts. Public financing and resources are at an all-time low, which means quintile 1, 2, and 3 public schools are confronted with significant daily challenges and, in some cases, cannot provide even the most basic learning.

As such, 23-year-old Thutuzelo Bhili from Tigane, Hartebeesfontein, who holds two qualifications in Bachelor of Arts in Law, Honours in History and is currently enrolled in Masters in History, saw a gap in his community and took a decision to tutor for a living. His passion for education influenced his decision – to teach and get taught.

Most primary and high school learners want to continue learning after school hours to sharpen their knowledge and comprehension of the curriculum to get good grades, and that is where the young tutor stepped in.

Not only does he teach the curriculum, but the learners also gain life lessons such as independence and studying independently. All this is done at R150 per lesson. However, Thutuzelo's benevolence allows those who cannot afford the costs to learn for free.

Thutuzelo's goal is to see the program grow and reach other provinces. Because the world is transitioning into the 4IR, he intends to host the classes virtually to accommodate everyone who wishes to have a personal tutor.
