The North West Development Corporation (NWDC) held an inspiring Women's Day event on Cookes Lake in Mahikeng, last week Thursday. The event featured an impressive line-up of speakers and activities, highlighting NWDC's commitment to women's empowerment and personal growth. The festivities started with Elizabeth Mokua, a dynamic and accomplished programme director, who masterfully led the day's proceedings. Her energy and passion set the stage for a day of insight and empowerment.

Mmatema Mere, an Image Consultant with a keen fashion eye, highlighted the transformative power of wearing clothes that align with one's comfort and identity, encouraging ladies to embrace their individuality and radiate confidence through their fashion choices at the event. Karen Landsberg, a representative from Life Line, shared her journey in the industry, emphasising the crucial role of organisations like Life Line in supporting mental health and highlighting the resilience and dedication required in this field.

Refilwe Mohapi, the Social Auxiliary Programme Coordinator, shared her experiences and insights on the importance of social auxiliary programmes in supporting women, children, and families, inspiring all attendees with her heartfelt account. Teboho Gooi and his band provided soulful music at a celebration, creating a blissful atmosphere. The ladies danced their hearts out, and Gooi's music united everyone in festivity, bringing everyone together.

Psychologist Lerato Wanna provided a nurturing environment for attendees, promoting bonding and sharing through icebreaker games. Her educational talk on mental health highlighted seeking help, reducing stigma, and promoting self-care. She too, made her presence invaluable, and she is one of those who stood out.

Roda Moshapo, a FACET Programme and International Forum-sponsored leader, shared her inspiring journey, highlighting the significant impact of sponsorship and mentorship on women's leadership development, inspiring them to break barriers, pursue their dreams, and reach for the stars. The NWDC Women's Day Celebration was a memorable event that celebrated the strength, resilience, and diversity of women, highlighting their commitment to supporting them in various aspects of their lives.

The event featured contributions from multiple women, showcasing the power of women coming together to inspire, uplift, and effect positive change in their communities. It was a day of celebration, empowerment, and unity, reminding attendees that women can achieve remarkable things when they support each other.
