Mamusa

The Mayor of Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality, Motseokae Maje, has officially handed over two new water tank trucks to Mamusa Local Municipality that will be used to enhance services in the various communities under the municipality.

These tanks will be instrumental in providing access to water and improving sanitation. The esteemed Maje presented the Mayor of the Municipality, Seitebaleng Chelechele, with two of these water tanks, emphasizing that these resources will significantly benefit the local popu- lation by ensuring access to water and sanitation.

He expressed his hope that the municipality would efficiently utilize the newly acquired water tanks to cater to the community's needs effectively. Chelechele, in turn, extended her gratitude for the generous donation and pledged that the municipality would continue to work tirelessly to improve the living conditions of its residents.

She stressed the importance of community involvement in the sustainable use of these resources and hoped that residents would take ownership of this initiative. The handover of these water tanks signifies a step forward in addressing the water and sanitation needs of the local population.

It is a collaborative effort between the district municipality and the municipal government to ensure a better quality of life for the people they serve. Mamusa Municipality has been experiencing water problems for years.

In the Ipelegeng Township, nearly 10 000 people reportedly struggle to access water. Water tanks were introduced a few years ago but allegedly failed to improve the situation as they were insufficient.

This gesture underscores the commitment of the authorities to prioritize the well-being and development of their communities, and it is hoped that such initiatives will continue to uplift the residents' living standards in the years to come.
