The North West Province's police have confirmed that the house of ANC Member of Parliament and murder accused, Sibusiso Kula (34), has been torched. It is not clear if Kula, who is out on R50 000 bail for the murder of his wife, was inside his home when it was petrol bombed.

The incident happened on September 29. Before Kula's house was petrol bombed, there was a fight that ensued at Maradona Sports Ground in Kanana, The Provincial Police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone said: "It is alleged that four men met with members of a security company at Maradona Sports Ground in Kanana, to pay them for services rendered. "Subsequently, a fight ensued and shots were randomly fired and one of security personnel was injured, while the other died later at a local clinic." Brigadier Mokgwabone further said after this incident, two arson cases were reported on the same evening. "That was after the house belonging to Mr Kula was petrol bombed. As a result, extensive damages were caused to his house, while a vehicle that was parked outside the house, was also torched. "

It was also reported that the man who allegedly fired shots at the sports ground, was set alight the same evening. His house and a vehicle were also burnt." Meshack Kheu, 32, is the person who was killed. "Investigations into the matter continues and no one has been arrested," Mokgwabone said. Mokgwabone also added that the police are investigating one murder of case, and one attempted murder case.

They are also investigating two cases of arson and one of malicious damage to property, which was reported last week Friday. Meanwhile, on September 6, the case against murder accused Kula was postponed to next week Friday, October 13 for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to decide on the transfer of the case to high court owing to it's serious nature. Kula was also provided with a list of witnesses as was instructed by the high court when granting him bail and he's currently out on R50 000 bail.
