Dr Ofentse Tom Tlou, who hails from the dusty streets of Rustenburg, completed a BSc in Biochemistry and Human Genetics with Wits University. He continued doing an MBCHB with the University of Havana in Cuba through the Nelson Mandela-Fidel Castro medical training program.
He is now serving the people of Rustenburg in Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital. He has served in various leadership roles, from religious youth organisations in the Lutheran church to student leadership roles.
He was the Vice President of the SRC in the Latin American School of Medicine and a student rep for Cuban-trained students at the University of Pretoria. Dr Ofentse is now serving as an intern rep at JST Hospital. he continues to be an Advocate for Mental health and Human Rights and is very vocal about it.
